NFL Week 1 Betting Recap

The New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys renewed their bitter NFC East rivalry in the first Sunday Night Football game of the season. The game will was played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and was scheduled to begin at 8:30 PM. ET. The Cowboys defeated the Giants by a score of 19-3.

Giants Analysis
The Giants made it back to the playoffs last year. It was their first playoff appearance since they defeated the New England Patriots in the 2012 Super Bowl.

New York’s defense was a big part of their success last year, and it is expected to be even better this year with their offseason acquisitions.
Offensively, Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. will hope their success continues, but the Giants might not have Beckham for the season opener after he sprained his ankle during the preseason. New York is also still looking for a consistent running game, after finishing 29th in rushing last year. While they proved they could win games without a good running attack last season, they also know having one will make things easier for their offense as a whole.

Cowboys Giants Betting

Cowboys Analysis
Like the Giants, the Cowboys will likely be without their biggest star in Ezekiel Elliott, who was suspended for the first six games of the season. Elliott is appealing the suspension, and even if it is reduced, he is still likely going to miss the season opener.

Dak Prescott will be out to prove that last season’s success, which was capped with him winning the Rookie of the Year award, wasn’t a fluke. To do so, he will have to lead the team to success if Elliott has to sit out the first few games.

The Cowboys defense can’t afford another slow start to the season and will have to play well to give the Cowboys a chance to win this one.

Prediction
This will be another close game, but the Giants should be able to get the win and cover the +4 point spread.
